Beep Beep

Since we have had to remove all of our "stuff" from the house in GA and put it into storage, we are on a mission to "shred" documents that we no longer need to store.  When you get to the point of having to pay for storage, you soon realize that those boxes of paperwork you have held onto for all these years, no longer are needed.

It sure would be grand to scan all of the present documents and store it all on the computer, but I am a believer that you need to keep receipts so you can claim it on taxes later.  And THAT we did!

I put on my dust face mask and we have begun to go through each box sheet by sheet.  I sort, Nick shreds.  And IT'S BEEN INTERESTING to see what we have found.

Speaking of computers, I came across the paperwork for when we got our first pager!  My kids probably wouldn't remember the pager and my grandkids wouldn't know what one was.  I kept that one piece of paperwork for nostalgia.  It was dated back in 1992 and when I saw it, I felt like it was just yesterday when we got it. You were "hot stuff" when you had a beeper hooked to your belt.  Ha - I just have to chuckle now as to how far we have come since then.

We only got through 2 boxes over the weekend before the shredder decided, it was overworked and underpaid - not Nick, the actual shredder!  Think we might have to save up for a new one at this rate.  All I know is our children will thank us for doing this now instead of leaving it for them when we leave this earth and go to heaven.  Although, I am sure they will have a few chuckles themselves when they find paperwork of things that are obsolete when that time comes.  Beep, beep, beep, beep, yeah!
