Swimming 101

Nick and I have been trying to get some "yes" "EXERCISE". Ha, my sister would laugh if she heard me meniton that word.

We BOTH hate it. I often get text messages from her that say "I still hate exercising - out of no where."

Before being diagnosed with cancer, we had joined  up with the personal trainer scene at our apartment complex and set out to pumping weights. Well that was short lived with beginning chemo treatments and then surgery and then radiation. It soon fell to the wayside.

I have wanted to rebuild my "stagmina" so we determined that joining the "rec" center here near the rental house we have would be beneficial cause we could swim.  The inside pool is open and allows us to go and do laps. I can go and do 20-30 minutes of swimming and it's the best form of exercise because it is less pounding on the discs that are collapsed in my lower back.

We were doing our laps the other day and Nick was going to one end and I passed him swimming to the other end and he said, what are ya doing, I said - I believe it's - the "breast" stroke!  Quite fitting for the past year of my life. We laughed out loud on that one.

Did I mention, I failed that part of gym class in high school!
