Peanut Butter & Jam

I was inspired to write this blog at 2 p.m. today while typing a letter at work.  I began to blog this in my head as I drove out of the parking lot of work and just now tonight got into bed and got back out so I could remember to type this as I knew I would be writing and rewriting it in this "chemo" brain of mine all night long.  It just stands to serve me better to get up and do it now rather than wrestle with it later.

Now that I am back in the working world and around the office machines again. I am coming ear to ear with the all familiar sounds of the not so nice ones of them getting jammed.  There have been three incidences in the past three weeks that I have jammed three different machines.  They must know I am the new kid on the block.  First one was my adventure with the folding machine in the midst of doing 240 Sunday bulletins.  Just when I thought it was going to be a manual folding process the rest of the day, the previous secretary showed up and unjammed what I had gotten stuck and showed me how to clean it.

Copier got stuck, called the repair guy and he gave me some helpful tips on what to look for and that's back up and running. They are certainly all very UNIQUE creatures.

Today typing on someone elses computer the paper went in but a loud noise came out and less paper came out than when in - yikes. I fiddled and pulled and the grinding stopped and it was good to go, jam was cleared.

So it's been very interesting in the first 2.5 weeks on the new job to have been troubleshooting macines and having them actually continue to work.

Being the one assistant, I have to learn it or sink or swim.  Its been fun.

A few more weeks and I should be able to have the manuals read and dogearred to know just where to go when the troubles  arrise.

Sounds to me like it's time for a peanut butter sandwish!
